Module 4
Digital Storytelling: yeah, I'm not sure. There is definitely a place for digital sound files and video in the classroom, but I worry at times about how this technology is integrated within the broader curriculum. It is really important to recognise the amazing resources that are available to students as viewers, creators and presenters of contemporary narratives, but this should be balanced with a focus on connecting with their immediate surroundings (especially the natural environment), relating to the people around them and developing communication skills that are not screen-based. Technology should serve to enhance a child's educational experience but it should not be the driving force. Exposure to certain examples of 'educational' software has made me skeptical about the use of technology in developing core literacy skills.

Not sure who said this but it aligns with my thinking: Teach with technology, not the technology.
